Must visit places when you are sailing in Thailand: Phi Phi Islands
On our list of "must visit" places on a sailing holiday in Thailand are the Phi Phi Islands...Here's why;
What’s there….?
Six Islands in a small archipelago, between the island of Phuket and the western coast of the mainland. The two islands that are the most well know are Phi Phi Don, the largest and the only populated island, and Phi Phi Leh, popularised by the famous film “The Beach”
Why….?
It is touted as being one of the most beautiful and accessible groups of islands in the world, from sheer limestone cliff walls rising from the azure sea to sandy beach-fronted jungle. The stunning beauty of these islands will not disappoint.
The whole region is part of a marine National Park and is therefore abundant in magnificent varieties of marine life, whilst having a vibrant and bustling feel to the main strip of shops, bars and eateries on Phi Phi Don.
How do I get there….?
Once you’ve picked up your yacht charter in Phuket, plan your itinerary to include a visit there. The islands lie 46 miles south of Phuket.
What will I do….?
There is something for everyone from snorkelling over a vibrant underwater world of coral reefs teeming with tropical fish, to relaxing on idyllic palm fringed sandy beaches and tasting authentic Thai cuisine.
