Fairview Yachting has confirmed the acquisition of Simpson Yacht Charter Thailand, the well-established luxury yacht charter operation based in Phuket and previously operating under the Simpson Marine Group. The move marks a new chapter for the company, which will now be led by respected charter professional Andy Byham alongside luxury yachting specialist Richard Allen, both bringing decades of industry experience and a strong focus on service excellence, fleet quality, and operational professionalism.
The new owners are committed to maintaining the heritage and values that have defined Simpson Yacht Charter Thailand for many years. Known for its outstanding bareboat and crewed charter offerings, the company will continue to operate from Ao Po Grand Marina in Phuket with its current team and fleet fully intact, ensuring uninterrupted service and consistency for clients.
With this acquisition, Fairview Yachting further broadens its scope, delivering an integrated suite of services that includes yacht sales, luxury catamaran charters, charter management, and yacht ownership solutions. All operations are coordinated from Fairview Yachting’s Phuket headquarters, reinforcing its role as a key player in the Thailand and South East Asia yachting market.
Commenting on the transition, Richard Allen said that having founded Simpson Yacht Charter in 2013 and spent more than a decade working alongside Simpson Marine, joining forces with Andy Byham to oversee the Thailand business felt like a natural evolution. He noted their shared vision for offering a premium charter fleet and exceptional customer care, and highlighted Fairview Yachting’s continued role as the official Bali Catamarans dealer for Thailand and Hong Kong, bringing innovative yacht designs to the region’s world-class cruising grounds.
Allen will remain involved at a strategic level while continuing to manage other leading yachting ventures across South East Asia, supporting a smooth handover and long-term stability. Simpson Marine, now part of the Sanlorenzo Group, will continue to focus on charter services for larger yachts in line with the group’s global charter strategy.
